2-hour Laws & Regulations Update for Appraisers

(Classroom)

Approved by OREA for 2-Hours continuing education. This class can be taken even if you already took the 4-hour laws and regs class from another course provider for an additional two hours of CE.

This Lunch & Learn seminar is designed to provide an update on pending laws and regulations that affect real estate appraisers and provide basic information on existing requirements. Important concepts from the applicable California and Federal laws and regulations associated with the practice of real estate appraisal will be identified, including the Financial Institutions Reform Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989, Federal Reserve Regulations, the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) Policy Statements Regarding State Certification and Licensing of Real Estate Appraisers, California Business and Professions Code, California Code of Regulations, and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The Competency Rule of USPAP requires recognition of, and compliance with, laws and regulations that apply to the appraiser or to the assignment. This seminar will also identify additional resources for appraisers seeking guidance in particular assignment areas where additional regulations, standards, or guidance apply, including IRS guidelines regarding appraisals, the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions, the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act, Employee Relocation Council’s Relocation Appraisal Guide, Fannie Mae’s Appraisal Guidance, the Home Valuation Code of Conduct, and the International Valuation Standards.
