USPAP for Good

The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice sets out an evolving and ever flexible process for appraisers and is published every two years with changes. A 7-hour USPAP Update class every two years is mandatory for licensed appraisers (with good reason), as the purpose of the document and class is to protect yourself by protecting the public. Whether you take it from me, another course provider/instructor, or online, you must take the class. Here are two ways to use USPAP for Good and turn the requirement into a positive, lasting effort:

The proceeds from the following classes will support charity:

Donate your USPAP book:

USPAP is available from The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) via pdf, interactive, and bound paper copies. In addition, some appraisal organizations distribute paper and or digital copies to members as a membership benefit. Despite these sources, many appraisers are not able to afford the $60 to $75 purchase price of USPAP, which has doubled in price since 2006. Although TAF also publishes the document online for free for members of the public, TAF wants every appraiser to have their own copy to refer to as it serves as the minimum standard for appraisal licensing.

If you have an extra copy of the current edition of USPAP, consider donating a copy to one of my students. In return, I will send you a $5 cash back coupon to be redeemed at one of my future classes.

I can only accept legally obtained, paper copies of the current (2010-11) USPAP document until July 2011. With the new edition of USPAP for 2012-13, I will be accepting that version starting next year. Please indicate your preference for being identified or remaining anonymous and send donated books to:
